The Resident Advocate Committee functions as an autonomous group within the facility and represents every resident. It is particularly important role, especially for residents who have no family or friends nearby and those who might be reluctant to bring concerns directly to the staff. Volunteers spend at least 2-3 hours per month at the facility talking with the residents to better understand the conditions at the facility from the residents' point of view. The Resident Advocate Committee convenes on a regular basis to share information gained during the visits. Issues are then communicated with facility staff to correct problems or implement suggestions for improvement. Concerns may be sent to the Long Term Care Ombudsman or state regulatory agency if the concerns are not resolved.

We are very thank full for these ladies and all they do for our family here at the Manor.

Lois Speer comes to visit her mother Ruth O'Neall when we celebrated birthdays of the month and brought her son Mike Speer and his son Ryan who just had a birthday too. Ruth loves spending time with her family members which include daughter, grandson and great-grandson.   It is fun to watch relationships grow between residents and new staff, especially those of a younger set who work after school for example in the dining room and kitchen.
Residents' feel at home and can continue with their social clubs and organizations. In the photo Etta Mae hosts her card party with her friends from the community. Manor staff was happy to help with the lunch and any other things Etta Mae needed to entertain her guests.

Owners Gary & Kathy Burns and three of their children--Barry, Deb, and Jeff-- visited to bring Merry Christmas Wishes to the residents and staff.
